Announcing my Author Interview Series
Now that Sunsets in Oia has been on the market for a month, my eyes have been opened wide to the kinds of hurdles faced by self-published authors. Getting the word out isn't easy. People you thought you could rely on for support don't always follow through. Most media outlets don't take you seriously because you aren't attached to a major publishing house. Many other writers give self-publishing a bad name by selling their titles for pennies or giving them away for free.
It's hard to stand out and earn respect in such a market. It takes determination, perseverance and patience. It's certainly a learning experience and a battle that must be fought uphill.
It is for these reasons that I have decided to pay it forward. Starting now, I will be using my blog on a monthly basis to promote the work of other deserving self-published authors. I'm aware this is not a new idea; other writers offer similar postings, but merely limit it to pasting a simple Q&A interview into the space. However, I've decided to put my years of journalistic experience to good use and provide my readers with full articles based on careful research, thorough questioning and professional reporting. I hope to provide articles to my fellow authors that they can be proud to share with their fanbase.
So, if you are a self-published author looking to spread the word about your book, please email me at [email protected] to request an interview.
REQUIREMENTS:
I will be posting only one article per month, and only the most interesting stories by professional authors will earn such slots. Basically, you need to pitch to me as if you’re pitching to mainstream
media. So, I ask that you submit your official press release as well as .jpeg versions of your book cover and your professional author portrait. I’ll also need links to your official website and all social media sites. If I like what I read and see, I’ll contact you to proceed to the interview stage. All
interviews will be conducted via email.
Please email me at [email protected] if you're interested in participating. Please include "Author Interview Request" in the subject line.
Check back soon for the first article in my new Author Interview Series. Thanks!
